Maybe it looks awful. 

That can be useful too.

Historical results cannot tell you what will happen next. 

No backtest can. 

But they can give you something better than a guess.

Is the sample big enough? 


Is the strike rate good? 


Is one league doing all the work? 


Is that losing run normal?
